Research

Squamocin, an annonaceous acetogenin isolated from A. reticulata seeds has been shown to cause “significant cell death in various cancer cell lines.” – arresting T24 bladder cancer cells at the growth phase (G1) and demonstrating selective cytotoxicity to T24  cells at the synthesis (S) phase. Squamocin is believed to cause cell death by inducing expression of pro-apoptotic Bad and Bax genes.
